Design
In addition to conception, Storyliner leisure and entertainment also takes on the design and implementation of leisure projects and worlds of experience. We played a key role in the relaunch of the Babelsberg Film Park on the site of the former Ufa/DEFA Studios in Potsdam, near Berlin. In addition to Janosch’s Dreamland and the area surrounding the “Prince Ironheart” theme restaurant, we were also responsible for the design and completion of major parts of the pre-show, main show and after-show areas of the Volcano Stunt Show which takes 2000 visitors – including its special effects – and we co-operated closely with Nefzer Babelsberg GmbH, the Babelsberg stunt crew, Don Grant Design (London), the Art Department of Babelsberg Studio, Henrich Decor (Berlin) and Christoph Seiffarth (Berlin).
On the basis of the Volcano Stunt Show we take the opportunity below to outline the steps we ourselves have taken in the design and implementation process. The plot is briefly related. In an extinct volcano somewhere in the desert, the hero or heroine comes across scientists who are as heavily-armed as they are mad, who carry out their evil schemes in the concealed, run-down, geothermal energy power station and who must be stopped at any cost…
